Ever since I was first forced to watch Once Upon A Forest in first grade, I felt so sorry for that 'special owl'. His face was all deformed, he was afraid of mice, every time he tried to vocalize he produced a gurgly purr as if he was trying to screech through a thick glob of mucus, he had been beaten up badly by something, and he probably had some liver disease that made his eye yellow. Of course, every character in that movie had a severe mental incapacity like Special Owl, but the kids and badger guy were annoying and the weird gospel choir birds were dangerously stupid. Special Owl was the only character that deserved sympathy. After seeing the owl scene again in the waiting room of my brother's optometrist, I wanted to draw him with a martini for some reason.
I DIDN'T USE A REFERENCE FOR THIS, SO I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW CLOSE I GOT: [link]
I must be the only person in the world who draws fan art for movies I hate.
I'm 23 and still like "Once Upon a Forest". My Mom who is 2 months away from 50 even likes it and my 4 months away from being 56 Dad will sit and watch it.
That Owl always scared me as kid whenever it opened it's eyes in the dark when the shot focused on the tree, and I had nightmares about it with some elements of other movies mixed in with the nightmare.
Is that sad?
This owl used to frighten me to no end when I was little....
